Powerstore reaches a variety of market sectors; their client list includes automotive, industrial, military, solar, marine, and supply chain operations as well as many others. In addition to their broad range of power solutions, The Powerstore seeks to be a one-stop shop by stocking complementary products and providing outstanding technical experience and customer support.

PowerStore’s success through 2020 was almost exclusively due to customer referrals and advertising at in-person solar events and trade shows. It was high time to turn their attention to online growth and they partnered with Solutions Digital Consulting to make it happen.

Challenges

 

Powerstore lacked any and all marketing plans for online growth. Their website was functional but had no one in-house with experience in anything related to e-commerce marketing. In fact, the folks at Powerstore weren’t even quite sure how to hire someone to lead their online marketing efforts.

To turn the tide, Powerstore brought on Solutions Digital Consulting as their marketing partner with the goals to create an online presence, optimize Google Ads, and breathe new life into their e-commerce efforts.

Solution

Together, Powerstore and the Solutions Digital Consulting team determined to begin with a focus on PPC efforts to ensure Powerstore’s highest investments on Google Ads would lead to swift and profitable improvements.  After reviewing past performance, identifying impactful products, and auditing the existing Google Ads account, a plan of action was created that included the following:

  • Creating a new, optimized feed for Google Shopping
  • Building targeted campaigns within Shopping, Search, and Display
  • Reducing wasted clicks with strategic negative keyword additions
  • Minimizing presence in low-demand geo targets
  • Optimizing the account by regularly taking advantage of new features & Beta testing
  • Establishing timely responses to information about trending and high-demand products
  • Funneling users by intent and distinguishing between those exhibiting ecommerce purchase intent versus those seeking product information

Results

The results are astounding. With Solutions Digital Consulting acting as an extension of Powerstore’s team, Powerstore achieved tremendous improvement YoY in ecommerce performance metrics across the board.

Comparisons of 2021 to 2020 show the following:

  • Revenues grew 394% and # of sales increased 666%
  • ROAS increased 589% → from 252% ROAS to 841%
  • Conversions increased by 392%
  • Non-website revenues (internal) increased 44% due to new account creations
